“Man, the SD780 IS is small. It is the “slimmest Digital ELPH Canon has ever created,” but you really don’t get a full feel for how diminutive that is until you’re holding it. It’s really small. Its width and height are about that of a credit card; it’s just barely thicker than an Apple iPhone (and oddly enough has similar body curves).”

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I purchased the SD780 IS (Elph) so that I could have a decent camera on my person at all times. I didn’t expect pictures to look as if taken by my Canon XSi (at more than four times the price). But I get wonderfully sharp images even hand held at night – with lens wide open and shutter speed at 1/18.
Okay, these cameras are both worth the money but are hardly comparable. It is difficult to use the little viewfinder on the Elph. You can’t change lenses on the Elph but the XSI has 90 different Canon lenses to select from. The Elph, with the built in lens does focus much closer than the kit lens on the XSI. The Elph takes videos and the XSi does not. Because the XSI is a single lens reflex, it makes a lot of noise. The Elph is quite. The XSi does have more features than the Elph, but the Elph has most of them – including the magical Image Stabilization feature.”

This camera was perfect for me! It was like love at first site! If it was up to me this would be the camera of the year! But sadly I left it in my pocket yesterday and it had gotten washed…. But no worries I love your company and im getting another! :D

Another 5 out of 5 stars!

Perfectly sized for backpackers and club-goers alike, the SD780 may emphasize compactness, but it doesn’t ignore the need for a small camera to take great pictures, either. And to this end, the new camera brings image stabilization and a host of other buzz-worthy features to Canon’s slimmest SD model to date. A truly shirt-pocket ready camera with image stabilization, Canon’s latest face detection and other processing technologies, and 720p video? Sign me up.”
